Who we are

Flatlanders Schutzhund is a Winnipeg-based non-profit dog training club dedicated to the sport of Schutzhund. Our focus encompasses all three phases: obedience, tracking, and protection. We are proud to have a diverse membership that spans from eager beginners to seasoned professionals. Whether you're just starting your journey or are looking to refine your skills, Flatlanders welcomes all individuals and their canine companions to explore and challenge themselves alongside us.

Why Train Schutzhund?

Engaging in Schutzhund training fosters a profound bond between handler and dog through countless hours of dedicated practice. Success in this sport is predicated on the harmonious partnership between dogs and their handlers, encouraging teamwork that enhances trust and communication. Both aspects are pivotal to nurturing a thriving relationship.

Moreover, Schutzhund training allows dogs to develop their natural instincts to an impressive level. A well-trained, self-confident dog is a happy dog, endowed with a sense of purpose through their work. Additionally, Schutzhund training serves as an excellent outlet for high-energy dogs. Canines with abundant energy require a constructive channel; otherwise, they risk becoming destructive or aggressive. Our training offers the perfect solution, demanding both mental focus and physical exertion, ensuring a well-rounded approach to your dog’s needs.

Join us at Flatlanders Schutzhund and elevate your training experience to new heights while building an unbreakable bond with your canine companion.
